Shannon Slater has dedicated her career to fighting for families who have been harmed by medical negligence, representing plaintiffs in complex medical malpractice cases throughout Maryland and across the country.

Shannon brings comprehensive litigation experience to every case she handles. She has significant expertise drafting and arguing discovery, dispositive, and trial motions, as well as taking and defending depositions of both fact and expert witnesses. In the courtroom, she excels at direct and cross examinations, and she has successfully negotiated settlements at mediation that deliver meaningful results for injured families.

Before entering private practice, Shannon’s commitment to justice was evident in her work with the University of Baltimore School of Law Innocence Project Clinic, where she helped secure the eventual exoneration of a wrongfully convicted client in 2018. She also spent nearly a decade in medical research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Breast Cancer Program, experience that gives her unique insight into how medical systems operate and where they can fail patients.
